Do I have ADHD?
If this is a question you’ve asked yourself, you’ll know that finding the answer is rarely straightforward.
The process can vary greatly depending on your personal aims, your age, the resources available to you — and, of course, the country you live in.
If you’re looking to explore medication for Adults here in Singapore, a Clinical ADHD assessment and diagnosis from a clinical psychologist or psychiatrist is essential.
If you’re seeking counselling or other privately funded support, you can usually access this with or without a clinical diagnosis. Some people feel confident identifying with ADHD after reading about it and completing a self-test and choose to move forward in life based on that self-understanding.
You may not know immediately which route is best for you so here are some steps that might help.
5 easy steps to navigating ADHD in Singapore
1.The Self Test.
The official ADHD Adult Test for Adults designed by the World Health Organisation is one of the most commonly used to Assess for ADHD Symptoms.
The 18 questions are split onto two sections. The first 6 questions most indicative of ADHD. The second 12 giving you a picture around impact and frequency.
🔍Your score will indicate if further assessment by a Clinical Psychologist is warranted.

You are considering a Clinical ADHD Diagnosis - how do you prepare?
Drawing upon my learning from listening to and asking questions about experiences of being diagnosed with ADHD as an Expat or Third culture Kid, I have created a Guide to ADHD Diagnosis in Singapore.

4. Who to talk to (and in what order)
There are plenty of professionals working with ADHD here — but knowing who to choose without local insight can feel like a guessing game.
Which order you see them in can affect costs, delays, the types of tests you’re asked to take, and even insurance claims

5.Unique ADHD support
One of the most powerful things I’ve learned in my work with adults and families affected by ADHD is this:
Understanding your unique ADHD profile can change everything.
When you begin to recognise how ADHD influences your health, relationships, work, learning, and emotional wellbeing, you gain the insight needed to navigate life with greater confidence and clarity.
There is no single path to understanding ADHD — but with the right support, you can begin to join the dots, make sense of your experiences and take meaningful steps forward.
