ADHD Diagnosis. In Singapore.

Year on year the number of people going through the process of testing for ADHD symptoms grows.

For Expats with less local knowledge and support networks, knowing where to start and who to talk to can make taking the first few steps difficult.

Add in a good dose of procrastination or overthinking and it becomes easy to be overwhelmed by the options, info and processes. Not to mention the cost.

The steps each person takes to find out more about their ADHD vary greatly depending on: your personal aims, your age, the resources available to you, and â€‹most importantly, how you want to approach managing the symptoms.

If you are asking yourself 'Do I have ADHD?' here are two steps you can take.

Do I have ADHD Symptoms? Self Test

One of the first things you can do to explore what your symptoms mean, is to try the ADHD Adult Self Test.

Designed by the World Health Organisation, it is one of the most commonly tests used to assess for ADHD Symptoms.  You will receive an immediate score which will  indicate if further assessment by a Clinical Psychologist is warranted.

Confirming ADHD. The Clinical ADHD Diagnosis.

For some people, reading about ADHD and completing a self-test brings clarity, enough to move forward in life with a new sense of self-understanding.

For others, speaking with a diagnostic professional offers powerful validation.

It can be a huge relief to finally have an explanation for experiences that may have felt confusing or overwhelming for years.

There are many professionals working with ADHD here, but knowing who to choose without local insight can feel like a guessing game.

Understanding who does what - whether Psychiatrist, Psychologist, Psychotherapist, Counsellor is key.

Which order you see them in can affect costs, delays, the types of tests you’re asked to take, and even insurance claims

Support. Your Unique ADHD.

One of the most powerful things I’ve learned in my work with adults and families affected by ADHD is this:

Understanding your unique ADHD and how it shows up for you can change everything.

When you begin to recognise how ADHD influences your health, relationships, work, learning, and emotional wellbeing, you gain the insight needed to navigate life with greater confidence and clarity.

There is no single path to understanding ADHD, but with the right support, you can begin to join the dots, make sense of your experiences and take meaningful steps forward.
